Wroxham village provides a wealth of places to visit.  The village centre is dominated by Roys shops offering everything from the acclaimed largest village supermarket in the world to a department store, clothes shops, toy shop, D.I.Y. Store, restaurants and other shops.  There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs with riverside bars and restaurants, to sit out and watch all the busy boating activity. Visit the Tour Norfolk web site for a fantastic picture tour of Wroxham .

Fishing is allowed from the riverside park, but of course the cottage has its own private fishing.  Visit the angling shop, and boat owners will be interested in the boat sale shop and marine shop.

You can take a stroll amongst the many boatyards, many offering day / picnic boats for hire, and some offering boats for sale.  Even a couple of hours on a self drive day boat allows for going downstream through all of the riverside thatched cottages with their landscaped gardens rolling down to the river.  Every bend in the river affords another picturesque view.  Hire a boat for your stay and keep it on your mooring.

For a more guided tour take one of the several broads ferry trips which start right in the village centre and pass through Wroxham Broad, which may have yacht races taking place and visit the next picturesque village of Horning

Just near the main line station is the start of the Bure Valley Railway, a must for families or those wishing a touch of nostalgia.   Take a trip to Aylsham, and visit the steam engine works.

Wroxham Barns craft centre is worth a visit, as is Hoveton Hall, lake and gardens.  Finally watch out for the local village notices.  The various recreational parks often host events such as classic car shows, display events and car boot sales etc.  In the summer there’s always something happening locally.
